Distance Calculator

Calculate the distance between two geographic coordinates using the Haversine formula.

The Distance Calculator allows you to compute the distance between two points on Earth based on their latitude and longitude coordinates. The calculator utilizes the Haversine formula, which provides an accurate estimation of the great circle distance between two points on a sphere.

To use the calculator, enter the latitude and longitude values of the two points in the input fields. The calculator will then compute the distance between the points and display the result in kilometers.

Please note that the calculator assumes the Earth to be a perfect sphere with a mean radius value based on the WGS 84 ellipsoid model. While the Haversine formula provides a reasonably accurate approximation, it should be noted that Earth is not a perfect sphere, and as a result, there may be a slight error of approximately 0.5% in the calculated distance.

For a more detailed explanation of the Haversine formula and the concept of great circle distance, you can refer to the Wikipedia page on Great Circle Distance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_circle_distance
